6. Troubleshooting
If you experience any issues with your ecoheat Sensus thermostat, you can find possible solutions here:
Thermostat does not display temperature / display is blank
- Check batteries: Make sure the batteries are inserted correctly and are not dead. Replace batteries if necessary.
- Reset thermostat: Remove the batteries for a few seconds and reinsert them.
Thermostat does not connect to receiver
- Check range: Make sure that the thermostat is within range of the receiver (max. 30m in buildings). Obstacles such as walls can impair the radio connection.
- Repeat pairing: Repeat the pairing process. Make sure that the receiver is in pairing mode.
- Exclude interference: Other wireless devices in the vicinity can interfere with the connection. Switch them off to test.
Heating does not heat / cool
- Check the target temperature: Make sure that the target temperature is set correctly and is above (heating) or below (cooling) the current room temperature.
- Check the operating mode: Make sure that the correct operating mode (Comfort, Reduced, Automatic, etc.) has been selected.
- Check the programming: Check the programmed heating and cooling times. The heating may be switched off outside the programmed times.
- Check the receiver: Make sure that the receiver is correctly connected and supplied with power.
Temperature display is inaccurate
- Check the thermostat position: The thermostat should not be exposed to direct sunlight or draughts. Avoid installation near heat sources.
- Calibrate the thermostat: If the temperature display differs significantly from the actual room temperature, the thermostat can be calibrated. For more information, see the ‘Additional information’ section.
Window-open detection is not working
- Activate function: Make sure that the window-open detection is activated in the parameter menu.
- Set sensitivity: The sensitivity of the window-open detection can be adjusted in the parameter menu.
If you are unable to resolve the problem with these tips, please contact ecofort support.

8. Additional information
8.1 Detailed descriptions of menus and parameters
8.1.1 Main menu
The main menu is the central starting point for operating the ecoheat Sensus thermostat. You can access the main menu by pressing the Home button. The main menu displays the current time, day of the week, room temperature and set operating mode.
- Time: The current time is displayed in the upper left corner of the display. You can set the time in the Parameters > Time and date menu.
- Weekday: The current weekday is displayed below the time.
- Room temperature: The measured room temperature is displayed in large digits in the middle of the display. The unit (°C or °F) can be set in the Parameters > Temperature unit menu.
- Operating mode: The currently set operating mode (Comfort, Reduced, Automatic, etc.) is displayed in the top right corner of the display. You can change the operating mode via the Operating modes menu.
8.1.2 Operating modes menu
In the operating modes menu, you can set the desired operating mode for the thermostat. You can access the menu by pressing the menu button.
The following operating modes are available:
- Comfort: The heating is regulated to the setpoint temperature set in comfort mode.
- Reduced/ECO: The heating is regulated to the setpoint temperature set in reduced mode. This is usually lower than the comfort setpoint temperature.
- Frost protection: The heating is regulated to a low temperature (approx. 7 °C) to prevent the pipes from freezing.
- Cooling: The cooling is regulated to the target temperature set in cooling mode.
- Automatic: The thermostat automatically switches between heating and cooling mode, depending on the set target temperature and the room temperature measured.
- Holiday: The heating is regulated to the target temperature set in holiday mode. This is usually lower than the comfort target temperature in order to save energy.
To select an operating mode, use the rotary pushbutton to navigate to the desired operating mode and confirm your selection with the OK button.
8.1.3 Parameter menu
In the parameter menu, you can adjust various settings of the thermostat. You can access the menu by pressing the menu button and selecting Parameters.
The parameter menu is divided into two areas:
- User parameters: Here you can adjust basic settings such as time, date, temperature unit and open window detection.
- Installer parameters: This section contains advanced settings that should only be adjusted by a professional.
To change a parameter, use the rotary push button to navigate to the desired parameter and confirm your selection with the OK button. You can then adjust the value of the parameter using the rotary push button and save the change using the OK button.
8.2 Instructions for calibrating the temperature sensors
The temperature sensors of the ecoheat Sensus thermostat are usually factory-calibrated. However, if the displayed temperature differs significantly from the actual room temperature, you can calibrate the sensors as follows:
8.2.1 Calibrating the internal temperature sensor
1. Measure the room temperature with a calibrated thermometer at the point where the thermostat is installed. 2. Wait until the temperature has stabilised (approx. 1 hour). 3. Go to the menu Parameters > User parameters > CALI in the thermostat. 4. Enter the temperature measured with the calibrated thermometer using the rotary push button. 5. Confirm the entry with the OK button.
8.2.2 Calibrating the external temperature sensor
1. Measure the room temperature with a certified thermometer at the point where the external sensor is mounted. 2. Wait until the temperature has stabilised (approx. 1 hour). 3. Go to the menu Parameters > Installer parameters > CALI in the thermostat. 4. Enter the temperature measured with the calibrated thermometer using the rotary push button. 5. Confirm the entry with the OK button.
8.3 Maintenance and cleaning information
8.3.1 Maintenance
The ecoheat Sensus thermostat is maintenance-free. However, you should regularly check the batteries and replace them if necessary. The batteries usually last about a year. When the batteries are low, a corresponding symbol appears on the display.
8.3.2 Cleaning
Clean the thermostat with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or abrasives, as these can damage the housing.
